Iron Girl is a quirky looking offering from Play’n’Go, which lacks a conventional Bonus feature but keeps things exciting with interesting base game play. I’m still unsure about the theme, whether Iron Girl is a real brand or just a concept made up by the manufacturer, but the graphics are really fun and the game-play very smooth.
As each spin takes place, a sign on the display informs you that the game is “Scanning for Villains”, and it is these villains that make up the premium symbols on the win plan. Landing a win involving any of these villains initiates a respin that will hold them in place. As long as the appropriate villains keep coming in view, the respins will continue and once a losing respin has occurred a bonus is awarded. If you managed to get 8 villians in view, 2 Wild Symbols are added to the reels, increasing the win; if the spins ended with 10 villains in view, then the whole win is doubled; 12 villains in view sees the win multiplied by three; and if you fill 14 of the 15 positions with the same villain, the whole win is multiplied by 5. This can quickly escalate to some pretty big wins!
At any point Iron Girl will randomly “call for backup”, which sees a large robot fly in front of the reels and drop Wilds in view. This is a great little bonus and often triggers the main Villain feature as well. I’m not sure if there is a maximum amount of wilds which can drop, but what’s great about this game is the frequency with which these two base game bonuses are occurring. With games with a central bonus that often pays big, it can be frustrating to sit for seemingly hours and have nothing happen. This game, and others from Play’n’Go, offer a different experience; and whilst they can still pay big, they’re more entertaining in the short term.
I enjoyed Iron Girl as a break from all of the Megaways games that are around at the moment, and it reminds me that not everyone wants such massive swings in their online play. This game offers great graphics, great sound, and keeps things exciting pretty much all the time. I don’t understand the theme but maybe others will!

She may be an Iron Girl, but she seemed pretty soft to me!
